After conqueering all the solar systems of the known galaxie, at the beginning of the XXXII century, the human specie discover new and strange form of life, Those entityes was coming from a dark zone of the universe, cientists named them the shadows, humans used this name because they only see them as darks entityes, no infra-reds or scanners or last technologies could reveal their composition or contact with them, at the beginning only some fregates and cruisers disappears, some fighters attak them, pilots says, that when they fired on the shadows they disappear in a cloud of dark particles. Cientists discover other incredible events, big parts of the universe loose entire solar systems, the universe was becoming darker… the terrible news come in the XXXIII century, the shadows was directly implicated in those events, and every day more suns of the known galaxie was shut down. billions of human life and empires was lost… at least, only the arkanan empire with his fearsome troops stay to stop the coming of the shadows to the original human civilisation… the earth.

wow that’s a great start. The image is well composed structually, color wise and has nice details too. Cool stuff

#5

I´ve sarted modeling the spaceships, now I will map them and start the dock in 3d, as you can see in the concept-sketch, I will model the pilot the last… the final modeling will have some changes… more details and props that the 2d concept.

#6

very nice man very nice, keep going

#7

Really really great cncept and a verry good looking moddel:applause:

Carl.

WOW that’s a really cool concept and modelling!!! I see that you are working very fast. I like the perspective, and specially the pilot in the first plane. The design of the spaceships are really owesome (how do you write that?) I love the detail
Keep on working!!!

#9

Thanks guys, I´ve tried to design ships that doesn´t remember star wars galactica or similar styles… but my own universe, I hope i will obtain a final look so original as I can…

#11

I optimize the spaceships to put them in the scene, and start modeling the dock or mother-ship, and also help me to give volumes and perspective to the scene.

#12

A lot of good details here… good concept sketch Stef… I like the design of vessels… bravo… j’attends la suite avec impatience… ça va pêter de partout à mon avis… good luck :scream:

#13

Very nice designs, and great composition. Keep going!

#14

I can see why you would have to optimize the scene!!
I was wondering what method you are using to create the ships? Your you using sub-ds or spline based modeling. I am having the hardest time using standerd geometrical solutions for ship design, and Im not good using spline cages. Or do you use nurbs??

The detail of these ships are phenominal. Really I have to say that I am envious of your mechanical modeling skill!!

Compositionally great!!

My only critic is that I dont see any story going on here. Have anything in mind???

#15

Lemog: merci j´espere que ça va péter… faudra que j´en ai le temps.

m@.: The final composing will be a little different, you know in 3D with the camera, Fov etc… you can play, test, lightning, etc… better than in 2D

WazaR: Really I don´t made the space-ships in low-res, I put a optimize modificator (Max) to the ships to put them in the scene and test placements, volumes, etc… I use box-modeling fot boths space-ships, for the story I have full of ideas but my english is not so ggod to do here a little story as I would like, but I´m very inspired by arthur C. Clarke. (y gracias por los complimentos, como ves se me da mejor el español

#16

space-ships textured, I will use Vray to render the scene, if I have some time I will post those ships rendered with Vray. The next will be the modeling of the dock-mother ship…

#17

Stefgrafx, these ships are awesome, great texturing i must say. very well done. But personally i would change light blue color to somethig darker or desaturated. For me is too vivid, it remainds me toys or something.

#18

great realy -good deailed! keep on working best wishes!:applause:

#19

the texturing really brings it to life… my compliments

#20

I agree with turbinea…that light blue too saturated… but in general it looks awesome! great work!
