I am going through (some) GSO entries just now and luckily also opened your entry.
this is just too much … the whole documentation of this progress shows all this huge amount of work we wouldnt see in the final image.
here really the question arrises if extra work (like machineparts that get covered later) needs to be done and pushes the project, or if as an artist you can go straight to the point.
the answere gets clear looking at this great piece of art … Yes the extra effort has to be done … there is no straight line to an artistic goal (sometimes it can be more straight if one has the final image very clear in mind)
but all this extra work pays of in the end. you just see the richness in the final output. I go as far to say that you even see the details that are not visible
