Good DVD burning software

#1

Ive recently finished my work on a cartoon, and I converted it using the H.264 codec, making it an MP4.

I encoded it to have as high of quality as possible, and I would love to retain that when it goes to the DVD for archiving… So I can dig it up in a few years and giggle and laugh at how silly my animation is.

But for the life of me I can’t figure out a GOOD DVD burning software that handles H.264 without compressing it. Do any of you have a tip on something I can use to achieve a no compression DVD, maybe even with a good menu I can customize?

Thanks!

Just burn a data dvd.

I would like to be able to play this on a DVD player.

Two things: 1)starting authoring DVD with an already heavily compressed format is a bad idea because there’s 2) no such thing as an uncompressed DVD. DVD’s use MPeg compression.

ok, no problem, but that still doesnt help my dvd authoring issue lol

I heard Nero was good, but I am looking for something more cost effective.

Let me put it another way: What you want is not possible. There’s simply no way to keep the current H.264 compression when authoring a DVD, any software will have to compress to some mpreg file.

The way you do it now doesn’t make sense. Starting the authoring process with an already compressed format may result in artefects and a loss of picture quality. Use uncompressed video files for authoring DVD’s.

You should burn the file as data. Making it a video dvd will recompress it to MPEG2 and lose quality. If you need burning software, try DVD Author Plus - it will backup, copy, and burn data DVD’s and ISO files. Download here:
