Global wind direction (not per plant)

#1

Playing with Vue 9.5, and I realize I can set up wind and intensity per tree with the blue arrow next to the tree in the top down window.

Here’s the problem. I’ve already set up dozens of trees, and now I’d like to set them all up for global wind reaction. In the “Wind” tab in the Atmosphere Editor, there is no way to set global wind direction. The manual doesn’t really answer this either, so I’m wondering is it possible to make wind affect all the trees if you uncheck “enable wind on a per plant basis”?

Or do I need to go to each tree and set the blue arrow for the direction I want the wind?

(and if I do, then I don’t understand how you would control wind affecting trees in an ecosystem)

Vue has a Ventilator icon that looks like a propeller. I’ve never tried using it though, so I don’t know if it is global. It’s somewhere down near the drop object icon.

Thanks Shawn. The Ventilator seems to be an option. I did learn that you can multi-select a bunch of trees and then move their wind control icons at the same time. That might be the best option going forward.

Yey! I didn’t know you could select multiple trees and have one wind force for them all.
