LOL!! Pusha V! yes I am working on a game, been workin on it for a while, a total of 6 months, the weird thing is, when your a self taught game developer, it takes alot more time, learning game engines, programming aspects, plat forming etc. the list goes on, it’s alot of work but you have to move with speed, my stratagy of developing games is different, especially since I’m on the low end of the spectrum, to approach the industry correctly I produce demos, from the demos I go into level of completion
2d games are the best to start out with, to get a hold of programming and mathmatics that comes along with it, I guess what stands out the most with me is that I own a Playstation 2 development kit and the story goes on from there, there are alot of resources for indie game developers and it’s pretty much a open market, with next gen systems and game engines coming out, it gives artist and developers a extended direction on game play look and style, but the thing that bother’s me the most, is that most people believe that it has to have the most and best graphics to create a game, and it’s not true, you can have the best looking game in the industry but the game play sucks, (or functionality), I’m attempting to take games in a new direction, more cinematic approach with strong game play
The only issue I see with smaller teams is technology, if your a indie developer, your really budgeting seriously, if your in my shoes and really trying to get this thing to work, strong teams with skills really help on time production and problem solving, and believe me, the problems do appear (“occur” for technical writing people) and my next favorite section of development, can this really be done? how long will it take?
And yes V, Kojima has his strong influcences on me, I’ve learned alot within a year based off his concepts on production, game production is alot of work
