Greetings!

Game Beavers (http://www.gamebeavers.org) is a website dedicated to the independant game developer. Its main purpose is a repository of royalty-free game assets for its members, as well as a place for independant developers to get together. Here’s a blurb from the site:

Game Beavers is a non profit corporation owned and managed by its licensed members. Anyone can join and become an licensed member of the corporation and assets by contibuting to Game Beavers. This organization provides a frame work that allows disparate teams and individuals to work together with common ownership with out having to worry about legal issues copyrights and royalty agreements. Zero royalty payments are made. Everything here is Royalty Free to the licensed members. Game Beavers consists of three components; a legal agreement a shared repository of game assets, and a list of licensed members.

[ul]
[li]The legal agreement allows the Game Beaver licensed members full rights to all the assets in the game beaver repository.[/li]> [/ul]
[ul]
[li]The shared game repository consists of all the assets donated by Game Beaver members. This includes code, 3D models, maps, game levels, textures music sound and everything needed to build a game except the engine. The game engine must be licensed from a third party. At this time only the Torque Game Engine is supported and an SDK license must be obtained from Garage Games in order to use the game engine and its related code.[/li]> [/ul]
[ul]
[li]The list of licensed members includes a list of individuals who have contributed at least three game assets and have signed the legal agreement allowing the other members the rights to use their submitted assets.[/li]> [/ul]When you become a licensed member you become an owner and manager of the corporation and you have the rights to all of the assets as if they were your own. You have an equal share of the company and an equal vote in running the company. You should think of this as your own development shop because it is!

Enjoy!
