I LOVE the texture style- maybe its just the golden tone of the wood, but its really impressive. cant wait to see your texture sheet.

by the way, whats the backstory behind this thing, - its so bizarre that there has to be some sort of logic behind it. i DEMAND you post a little blurt about this on your next post. :cool:

I agree! Just make up some waffly nonesense that a lot of RPG games seem to make. Something like:

“thargon the elf bludgeoner summoned his mighty cannon of gegum to reign down fire upon the impish hordes and errrr evil beardy wizard folk - He has 10,000 hit points, so his wrath shall be felt throughout the kingdom of elgaron”

hey everyone, sorry it took so long to update this time, but there’s something cool to show after 9 hours of my deadly nocturnal teeth stuck in max

I decided to scrap that top nob on his hat, looked kind of ode on actual 3d modeling, loosing that element added more baby look as well, witch is a good thing for this project… As a note this model is subject to changes and possibly many more tweaks, FOR REAL I need some crits :slight_smile: plus I have almost 100 tries to still spend, so?

until the next ( THE SUN IS RISSING O_O )

Nice :). The knee caps don’t look right though, they look as if they go in :shrug:.

Looks great, but pyro is right about the knees.
good proportions though, and a nice chunky feel to it. If i were you, id spend your remaining polys on tidying up the joints for better deformations. The shoulders, stomach, hips and elbows could use another row of polys.

ok :slight_smile: thanks for the crits, I tweaked the model further, added some loops in a few places and re did the knee caps. UV unwrapping I’ll do tonight… brb

The knees still looks wierd, and the neck is too long. The chest area also look odd, maybe that the style you are going for but I find the stomach too high. Anyway, time is running short, but if you maintain your work rate, I think there shouldn’t be any problem in completion.

Looks Awesome Hanzo, I’m not into working on the style your doing but I absolutely love to look at it. This piece is lovely eye candy, the textures are great and very colourful. I think maybe the flag could be a bit more colourful and iconic?
The character looks great i can’t wait to see the textures on him, I love his scarf/neck tie. Like everyone else, whats going on with the knees? It looks like he’s wearing trousers but it doesnt look right?

WOW, im gonna cast my vote for this as the early winner. I dont know y but I LOVE your texture style. very rich.

i was thinking in relation the the cannon color wise, its very well dont, but it consists of mainly vibrant browns and greys. I kind of think you should play with the idea of some more colors. Like maybe maye the little balls in the trailer red, and maybe some greem somehwhere else. maybe not. i just feel it would benifit from some different colors.

First, very nice texture on the character.

Now for the important thing. How could I (or others) have missed. hows the cannon gonna move. It give me the impression that its gonna be towed!!! There didn’t appear to have any form of seat for our pilot & engine of any sort. A towed machine won’t have qualified as a vehicle!.. So I think you should let us know how it moves, or start creating some form of engine somewhere!

And I do hope you get the rig done quick. Its a good entry, and rated highly by me (and others). I think you should (make it a must) find some way to (not pose) show some way that the the character & cannon are integrated. e.g loading the cannon ball, or pulling the trigger. BTW, keep up the good work.

Hanzo :cool: , as I said earlier, Your work is awesome. Texture looks cool, modeling also good, and the main, extreme speed of creating. One word, SUPERB.

PKD.-> :lightbulb remember The Flinstones??:slight_smile: there characters sitting inside the car and run, sit on the “chairs”. Anyway, there wasn’t any engine. So here character could also run from the hill, pushing the vehicle on the front, and jump on it where the speed is on maximum. Anyway could be funny :bounce: .

Por@szek, appreciate ya watching my back :argh:, I was so busy trying to get done I hardly noticed…

PKD, well it’s not exactly what Por@szek had in mind, lol. but I was think more on the level of magic mixed with science fantasy, somewhat like Final Fantasy ( I’m a huge fan ) also in warcraft there is plenty of stuff like this that makes lil sense but in the end it’s just so sweet. :twisted:

Konstruct, I would have been a bit more diverse in the color scheme but I felt something about the grey and brown when I did the cannon textures, so I decided to stick with it, I was really inspired…

next time I’ll use more variety :stuck_out_tongue:

Congrat for finally submitting your work. I’m impress by your speed. Thou the magic powered machine idea wasn’t the most convincing…Now that you posed the character with the machine. I can finally figure out how this baby works & move. This is definately one of the best entry for this competition. :thumbsup: BTW, I really love your texturing work, especially the texture on the cannon muzzle.
