these grungy textures are looking really cool
what size are they?
GAC Juggernaut Vehicle Rogelio Olguin
The way I did the main truck is alpha black and white. Than combined two small textures one dark brown rust metal and another lighter metal.
the black and white alpha that makes the texture is 512x512 and I have 2 of those. with another that is 256x256. The small textures for the light metal and rust metal is 256x256. So that is how I got the effect. I use the small textures in many parts also. Like the railing and pipes. So reusing all these textures as much as possible.
The second pic are some more textures.
I am saving up the rest for the inside pretty much.
Edit: Added a close up of the side part of the train.
A bigger update this time. Better shots to show the work a bit better. Most of the outside is done. I just need to do the engine texture. This is the last update intill I get back from my Xmas vacation. Thanks for the comments so far. Once I am back ill get into the inside smaller sweet details. Oh yeah I am just using bump mapping not normal mapping.

Thanks HellBoy
Now that I look at it more compared to the mid body the front does not look as well done… Dirt wise… Looks too photoshop stuff.
Just wanted to show you all what I got so far none instanced. The count is at 8971 tri count. ANd I already have the the two inside sides done. SO I have a good bit to use. SO far I am using half the texture space.
Thanks for the replies. Sorry I forgot to say thanks last time I posted. Hope everyone had a great break and New Years!
here is an update. This is the inside lower area where the cargo is stored. Still have to put some small details like real light effects for the lamps since those were done in photoshop and also put some signage but I am going to leave that for the end. Oh yeah Crates in this picture lol…
Edit: Another shot looking from the side inside area into the middle part.
Very nice! My only suggestion is to change the lighting, it is all over exposed at the moment. I would attenuate the brightness, reduce the radius of the lights, etc.
Keep updating!
I agree he lighting is over bright on many areas this is something I have to fix.
I am trying to get this project done within a weeks time… Since my next semester is going to start and I will not have time for anything else but school.
big update coming up Note: Lens flares are photoshopped in. Also the blueish lines but I did not add contrast or changing any settings from the raw images rendered in max.

awesome update rog. is that it? are you done? will you put it in an environment? this is just begging for a superdynamic beauty render.
well done.
-O
Thanks
I might do a beauty render if I get time. School starts Monday so not sure. Ill get the texture shots and wire soon.
Edit: The model is done still need to get the texture sets up but beside that and maybe a beauty render it is done… I also wanted to do a flyby of this if I get time even if I did not get it done for this comp.
right on!
i agree with obelisk. it’d be a shame if you didn’t do this with an environment, even if it wasn’t for the challenge, you know? it looks pretty damn cool! can’t wait to see the tex & wire shots.
-J
Thanks
Yeah I was thinking of taking it further once I am done and make a whole scene with it. But maybe just for this comp ill do a quick photoshop painting for the background and do a beauty render. I still have two days and even more if the comp is extended but I am not counting on it.
Well
I guess I just made your day.
Competition was extended for one week, and only a week.
Hope that it helps.
