Just adding my place… Not sure if ill have time but I did draw this as an idea.

Not sure if ill use this concept since it looks to alike to the convoy. Maybe ill push the idea more later with another drawing.

Sweet concept there, very nice indeed. I’m guessing it’s a train? It doesn’t look that similar to Convoy, reminds me more of the trains in Half Life 2.

Started modeling. most of the front is done. The rest ill have to test a few things for instancing. The whole model is at 1528 but I am going to split it in the middle and instance it at the end.

Thanks I really want to get most of the meshes done within a few days. I want to concentrate on the textures alot.

I am going to be gone for like 3 days or so… Schools last projects are due to be presented… After that it is Christmas break where ill be able to chern out more stuff I hope

Subscribing to this as well, I like the way you’re going with this :slight_smile: Just one comment, the front of the cylinders at the front of the train (“headlights”?), the indents could be done with normal maps instead of using the mesh. Depends on the look you want of course, but since it’s at the front and only visible in fly-bys maybe normalmap would be fine. On the other hand, texture space is limited and it ain’t many polys there so… It’s up to you heh :slight_smile:

Yeah you are right. Atm I am just modeling not really thinking of polys for the main train just doing a quick rough and once I am done with all the peices I am going to lower the polys and use normal mapping I think for some of those details.

Just a quick texture pass. The front is still being tweaked and will add an alpha for the holes I think.

edit: Added another shot with the front and the holes.

Looking real nice man. The only thing I would say is put some other color into the texture, looks really empty as is right now. But m0delling is looking real good.

Getting more into the inside a bit.

Edit: At 9500 tri without instancing.

Update. Decided on the white metal from the concept instead… almost done with all the outside textures… once that is done the inside should be lots quicker.
