HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER !
Background:
The character of Sir Mordred, nephew and foster-son of King Arthur, is generally depicted as a villainous character. Legend says that both Mordred and Arthur fell at the Battle of Camlann. The earliest known reference is year 537 of the Annales Cambriae, where there is a single ambiguous entry: “Battle of Camlann in which Arthur and Medraut (Mordred) perished”.
It is said that when Arthur left the kingdom to wage war, Mordred faked news of his father’s death in order to seize power. Upon hearing this, King Arthur returned to reclaim the throne, and their forces met at Camlann for a final confrontation. Both sides suffered heavy casualties and Mordred was slain by Arthur, but not before receiving fatal wounds.
