GAC#11: Shirakawa - Japanese Emperor

So, i hope that i’ll finish this GAC. Good Luck to everyone.

So my choise is Emperor Shirakawa, some real info about him:
Emperor Shirakawa (July 8, 1053-1129) was the 72nd imperial ruler of Japan. He was the eldest son of Emperor Go-Sanjo.

Some info about my design:

  • Dark Samurai
  • Duel Katanas
  • Blue illuminating eyes

So, here is basic shape of model, i will create high poly version for normal maps, this is cloth shape, so there are no muschles on it. And ends are beveled out. If you want wireframe, i’ll post it.

I have concept sketch too, but i dont have scanner. :cry:

so limit is 15000 tries, how many tries i can spend on one (of two) katanas?
Will be 1500 to much, what do you think?

I don’t know, but it shouldn’t be much at all.

here’s an update:

High poly head for normal maps (also my first human head ever):

Low poly body (only cloth for now):

Nose needs more detail and all other on head, but still critique shape of head… and i still need answer to that katana question, tnx. Stay tuned.

So, few hours of modeling.
One image is just a test, i think that this idea with blacked out part of face and blue eyes is good. What do you think?
Head is not finished yet, some details are still mising. Stay tuned.
