Quick and dirty concept here…

I may go with the ‘rough rider’ uniform…We’ll see. I’ll try to get a concept up of that tomorrow sometime.

Dont really know much about the guy but I like your concept sketch, maybe give him that stick everyones on about but have it in place with a bunch of sticky tape holding it there!
Anyway cool concept, nice pose but i think he needs more there to make him stand out and that bit more appealing.

i like your concept and he does look like he could be a boxer. haha.
But…

yes you HAVE to give him a stick. And I dunno how he’s gonna hold the stick with gloves :confused:

Maybe someone should do Truman too and have his special move the “a-bomb drop”

Sketch in Rough Riders uniform…with the oft-requested Big Stick.

I had him in boxing gloves in the first concept as TR was an avid boxer and wrestler in college. He also studied Judo while President. A true man’s man.

Great drawing, I think this is a step in the right direction as in he looks more like he coulb be in a fighting game! Are you planning on a clean style to the model like your concept or will he be more gritty in your final piece?
What method did you use to get your black outline, looks like inks?

I would love for the finished model to be gritty and realistic looking. In the back of my mind I’m shooting for a Tekken 4 type of look.

I’ll have another concept up soon that will have (hopefully) all the details fleshed out: sidearms, belts, a bandolier perhaps. I’m going to play with the stick design a little…maybe make it more like a baseball or cricket bat. I dunno yet.

Inks? Totally. Just a quick sketch I inked, scanned, and colored in Photoshop. Quick and dirty, baby.

Very cool. Nice concepts. Perfect historical figure too. I think a huge elephant gun could be his stick (boomstick). As Teddy was also an avid big game hunter I think. The barrels on such rifles are massive> Wouldn’t want to be smacked over the head with that.

Hey, if ur a fan of Roosevelt, you should read the book called “The Alienist”…its a cool book, and Roosevelt’s one of the main characters taking place when he was head of the NYPD. Sweet concepts too.
