GAC 11: Jack Torrance (The Shining)

#1

:bounce: GAME ART!! :bounce:

I’m gonna be doing Jack Torrance from The Shining. I’ll post some details and a background story later (for those who haven’t read the book/seen the film).

I intend to do 2 variations of the character, in the game he would drink a certain amount/kick enough ass and he would turn into a much more powerful fighter. The 1st version will be Jack Torrance, loving father with a bit of a temper and a powerful swing with a roque mallet. The 2nd will be the insane, drunk, evil version who will be slightly over the top.

I’m gonna have a think about the design and post some concepts (of both versions) later.

And before anyone says anything, I’m modellin 1 character (not 2), the variations will share the tris and texture space (e.g. 4000 tris for each) and they will be classed as one character.

Updates soon :scream:

nice!

this I gotta see. one of my all time favorite characters.

one suggestion - you gotta keep the nicholson similarities. this should rock.

good luck.

hehe thats sounds like a great idea, i think mttjss is right about that nicholson similarities,
jack looks kinda scery with his strange eyebrows, could give your char the wonned personality
you are lookin for .

Thanks for the comments, I really appreciate them.

I’m definetly keeping the Jack Nicholson similarities (e.g. the inasane smile) but I’m trying not to do a Jack Nicholson model if you know what I mean. I want to try and make the character my own but make sure he’s easily recognisable.

I’ve been pretty busy lately, haven’t had time to start a concept yet.

Might start playing round in max soon, get back into it, maybe I’ll model the infamous axe
