GAC 11 : Hattori Hanzo

Hattori Hanzo probably was the most famous samurai in Japan. He was only 16 when he fought his first battle. This very good skilled fighter was also called ‘Devil Hanzo’.

My idea is to create character that should look like regular samurai (can’t help myself, I like that pretty colorfull armor) with no visible magic skills - maybe except his devil eyes :twisted:

Name : Hattori Hanzo
Height : 170cm
Weight : 70kg
Weapons : katana (primary), naginata (secondary)
Special ability : 50% more resistive against opponents’ magic and special movements

I’ll supply you with some concepts soon. Hope you understood my english.

thought he was seen as more ninja-like than a straight up samurai, as he followed his retainers orders but they were usually like secret missions & surgical strikes. it’d be cool to see him as a samurai, just if you did decide to go the ninja route, naginata’s make for terrible ninja weapons

Hi ill_logic,

I know Hanzo’s reputation as an ninja leader, but I would prefer him to be seen as samurai.
There are plenty of ninja models but I have seen a few samurai models :wink:

great choice. i wouldve picked him myself.

but yea… i always thought of him as a swift assasin of sorts… unlike the samurai who i envision with heavy armor. maybe he can have some light samurai armor?

Hmmm, it makes sense to give him light armor in case I would go the ninja way as ill_logic mentioned.
Look at the attached picture.This is common samurai armor. My idea was pretty close to this one, because in my opinion the overall look of armor is mystical and would perfectly fit to ‘Devil Hanzo’ nickname. And there is space for normal maps, as well.
I appreciate your comments guys and I’ll think about it.

I think it’s great that your doing such a legend as hanzo but the fact that your going to portray him as a ninja aggravates me being the “fan” i am. He used a kami with chain and kunai’s not a katana or naginata. Just my opinion.

I’m not going to portray him as a ninja, I plan to portray him as a samurai. But it’s a fact - he was ninja leader. Some would see him as ninja, the other not. Thanks for your opinion.

well, it’s almost month i’ve been posting here… i was little bit busy, but now, i’m back in full strength :wink:
