[color=plum]
Character: Tadodaho [also known as Adadarho] - Evil Spirit of Tadodaho of the Onondaga Haudenosaunee - a former Iroquoian Warrior Chieftan and alleged Sorcerer
[font=Franklin Gothic Medium]
Background: According to tradition and history passed on through generations, Tadodaho (Adadarho) was the warrior chief of the Onondaga Nation, the least numerous of the nations that formed the Iroquois Confederacy or more appropriately, the League of the Haudenosaunee - of which, Tadodaho and the Onondaga were the last to join. The initial opposition to the plan of unity from a powerful Onondaga war chief Tadodaho was great and is the making of a legend. He was said to be the embodiment of evil, an individual who had woven snakes into his hair to intimidate all in his presence, sometimes labelled a sorcerer who had sommand of the winds, and he had no interest in supporting a league dedicated to peace. The Peacemaker and Hayehwatha despaired of ever converting him until they voiced their concerns to Jikohnsaseh, a woman chief of the Cat (or Neutral) Nation. She suggested that he could be won over by being offered the chairmanship of the Great League. When the nations assembled to make their offer, Tadodaho accepted - in turn, Hayehwatha combed the black snakes out of Tadodaho’s hair, banishing the evil. Yet through his life there was an uneasy spirit about Tadodaho. He kept the evil at bay only to have it meet with him post-mortem, where he tormets himself and others along his afterlife journey.

Story: ‘Loose’ spirits in the universe get ‘called’ to one another, waging battle for attonement of sin or posthumous pleasure.

seeing is believing :stuck_out_tongue:

altho with Halo 2 out of the way, perhaps you actually have time.

looks interesting.

I had a dog. his name was BINGO!

:wink: a good friend once said “excuses are the nails in the walls that hold up the house of failure”

I was truly busy in past challenges with actual work, but we are in a lull right now at BUNGIE [just gearing up for the ‘next big thing’] and I really want to have something NEW to enter for Expose 3…where I can represent game art, because in past Expose’s game art was not as prevalent as it should have been…let’s change that people!

a recent strin of evens has led me to reluctantly bow out of another challenge. but, to my defense my recent months went something like this…

  • found out in November that my wife and I were to be expecting a child
  • took December off to go back to Canada for a month to recuperate from Halo 2 crunchtime stress
  • did not have a computer that could run Maya for a month
  • came back in January and tended to a tempermental and morning sick wife
  • got back into the swing of R+D at work, trying to gear up for our next big project after Halo 2
  • starting looking for a house for the wife, the baby and I
  • World of Warcraft proved to be a huge time-suck
  • computer broke down and had to wait for repairs
  • last week my wife and I learned that we had lost the baby
  • we are still searching high and low for the perfect house
  • World of Warcraft still provides too much playing time

so, aside from World of Warcraft, I have had a pretty interesting few monnths. the worst news happened last week, and it will take awhile to recover from it.

i am enjoying seeing other’s entries, and I hope to jump in on the next challenge.

good luck guys…and thanks.

My sympathy goes out to you, it sounds like you’ve been through a lot in the past few months, and my condolences go out to you and your wife for your loss, I don’t know if Id be the same if the same happened to me.

#16

i still plan on modelling/animating a character very much akin to the center figure in the image below…it is just too cool not to.

#17

This should be an amazing piece, really original choice of character :slight_smile:
Will you be using technologies such as Normal Mapping?

PS. Sorry to hear about what happened recently.
