Sorry I`m a little late in voting, my internet situation blows.
Best Composite Work - Ian and Terance
powerdan comes a closeish second, but I felt the fire compositing was inconsistent. Overly thick on one arm, overly thin on the other. Another revision or two, and that would have been fine. I think Dexter could have used more time on this in particular, because there were some serious matte line problems that distracted me.

Best Cinematography - Ian and Terance
I think this was the most inventive, and they looked like they had fun with it. Electrigirl is a close second, but I felt it played it too close to standard Hollywood fare.
Best Story - Electrigirl
[font=Arial]Nice gag/setup, but I think it ran a little long, and should have had punchier editing. Ian and Terance had a good thing going, but the end was too abrupt.
Best Editing - Ian Farnsworth and Terance Tucker
Good except for weird staging of the fx shot, and overly abrupt ending. Inventive, though, so big ups.
Best Visual Effects - PowerDan
I hesitate a little to vote for this one, because i know that its Maya Fluids, and it doesnt look toooooo far off from the presets. Also, the arm tracking looked a little off – regardless of whether it actually was or not (these things are tricky, especially with fluids). Still, a good looking entry, solidly executed.
H3ro had a good thing coming together, although the car rendering and motion needed a couple revisions. The smoke footage was also too fast.
Ian and Terance were able to get some good stuff for the fire, but it was such a one-off effect. I feel they could have staged it better and done more with it – heat ripples, reflections, light effects on the actors, shadows, etc.
Electrigirls effect was overly simplistic for me. I feel this one could have used more look development. Coreys looked alright, but I expected the guy to still be there, to have marred the claw. Needed a couple more revisions.
Dexter`s looked pretty good, and is probably second or third in my mind. I think it needed some polish, but fairly solid, all things considered. The compositing really hurt it, though.
Best Overall Entry - PowerDan
The name of the game is effects, and this has the best looking ones. I wish it was longer, had a story, and whatnot, but still, a solid entry.
Good job, everyone! I hope you all learned something from the challenge. Thats what its there for.

Comments:
Electrigirlcan absorb electricity from power sources around her and store it for future use. Gathering power is totally passive on her part, but the discharging of it is controlled.
Ok we are inour concept is most of the way finished.
We will be doing a short sequence and using the Electricity based power.

Ok… since they’re due here goes nothin’… minus some editing changes (and adding real sound) that we would make if we had more time which I’m sure you guys will all point out
and my crappy acting skills (should’ve been wayyy more intense I think) …and not to mention Terance messing up my name in the credits… :banghead: We’re still both pretty happy with it.
The name was also changed to Super Begins because Beginnings looks really awkward, so I think we’re going to revise the strategy there too at some point.
Hope you all enjoy it:
