Hi there friends. I thought I would give this one a go and see how far I go.
With most of my projects, I start with images in my head, then I start trying to work on the main elements from the get go. I often got put off from storyboarding because I always assumed that the images had to be top quality, but this is not always the case. As long as I can understand what is going on when planning a personal project, in the storyboard it’s all good I guess. I decided to start storyboarding with Alias Sketchbook and Photoshop, on my tablet PC and I have fallen in love with storyboarding before I try jumping into the main bulk of any project.

As you can see in the storyboard I have a scene of a lighthouse. I futuristic flying ferry will crash into the ocean causing a tidal wave to head toward the lighthouse, but at the last moment something odd happens

Here is a compositing test I did earlier today. I decided to add my notes and areas that need improvement within the actual image. This way I am constantly reminded of any changes that I need to make.

Water simulation test done in Maya 7 dynamics.
I normally do camera shake during post production, however. I parented the camera pivot point to a shaking cube. When all passes are rendered out this should add to a more realistic camera shake.

Also here is a quick render of the yacht.
