Good luck all.

#3

I love to see what you guys are cooking…

are you posting something anytime soon?

#4

Sorry for the delay. We decided instead of hand animating the car, we acquired the help of Ricardo Tobon and captured an RC car’s movement with motion capture. So we have an addition to the team:

Ricardo Tobon - Animation (MOCAP)

Another update should be up in a few days.

Here it is, our final entry. We used Maya 2008, Photoshop and Nuke to composite our 35-45 layers (depending on the shot). We only finished 4 out of our 5 shots. Length is 50 seconds for the final (including intro and credits).

EDIT

For some reason the links were not working. It would only load the video halfway. I uploaded the low res over top of the old file and it seems to be working now. The high res is in the process of uploading and should be done shortly. In the mean time, I am posting a youtube link as a backup.

Cool stuff guys. The mattes came out real nice and the motion graphics look solid too. I’d love to see a wireframe overlay over the renders of the car as it transforms if you plan on doing a breakdown.

Cheers

I am planning on creating a breakdown, in a few days once I recover from the sleepless nights; You guys know what I mean… I will also have some screen shots of the Nuke scripts I made. If you guys would like to know how we did anything in the comp feel free to ask. The more we share the better artist we become. Good luck to all.
