FXWars! DISINTEGRATION!: Monotoner, Gaara! , Naruto Anime

Hi guys,

Hope this is not the only digital entry :slight_smile: I’ll be doing a shot of the anime Naruto where Gaara got blown up into sand (only to recover later).

    Here's a quick update, just putting in all the rendered layers for now. Will be adding in some more layers of sand and doing some color correct.

Its finally done :scream: “Gaara!” a tribute to Naruto

Some info about this project:

Time taken was around 4 weeks on and off. Done in 3D Max and comp with After Effect.

The idea behind it was to break the character to fragments then from fragments to sand. This was done by using a birth script to turn the fragments into particles to animated them. Then change the fragment particles back into mesh object. Using these mesh objects as position objects to turn the fragments into sand.
