FXWars! DISINTEGRATION!: dellis, Woman Ash,Interview with a Vampire

#1

Hey all,

Just wanted to start this thread so that i can start putting up some of my tests. The effect that i’m going for is a scene that loosely represents the scene in Interview with a Vampire where Claudia and the woman are locked in a well and then left for day light to come…and inevatably get burnt up. I’m going to model the entire environment and i’m planning on using an actress for the burn up. Not sure if she will be a still photo or a video. Video would be way more dramatic but require a hell of a lot more work matching the 3d model to the motion to get the ashing effect. I’ll post a few of my tests this weekend for the environment.

That might be my favorite scene from the movie. Nice pick!

Hey all,

Just a small update. This is a test that i’m working on to see if i can use the Greeble plugin to create the inside walls of the well. The materials are all procedural right now, although i do plan on hand painting the finals. Gotta rent the movie this weekend and see what they actually look like.

This is not the final wall…just a proof of concept…so any criticisms and suggestions are welcomed.

Heres the first render…hoping to get this part sorted out in the next couple of days.

And heres the file in case anyone wants to play around with it.

Hey guys,

Heres an update from one of my camera views. Just playing around to get a feel for how i want to have this thing move along from shot to shot.

The lighting and the materials are going to change and i have alot more little details to add. Its killing me, i want to get back to playing around with the particles and stuff…gotta finish this stuff first.
