Here’s the Afterburn pump action I made last week. =D

It’s named by the shape for the poor tree in Ragnarok of Teutonic tales.

It says six hour but probably more or less, all I remembered was I went to bed with white and woke up with wonderful scanlines…

The explosion was actually animated, but too bad I have no farm to shepherd a wolf pack.

So, here’s the picture…

by the way this is a good test for both the hyperlink and bandwidth of my webspace, so please do inform me if the pic is down or not visible=p.

WooooooooooooW DUDE !
I love it.
Tell me… how long it takes to make that beauty ?

#3

Good job S.W.
Nice colors, I like the atmosphere !

#4

very good dude!!! and yeah… i love nordic mythology!

What has this been made with? i mean is it 2d or 3d? looks rather 2d to me… I like the white fog round the tree (??) the flaming is real nice but u might want to add some more detail, not much to see now, u get focused on the flames and there is not really a story with em, like u can stare in a campfire for a long time without thinkin bout anything… Give it a more personal look and it might be better to look at.

I’m looking at the picture for 30 minutes and still can’t belive

Great again :>

Well, it’s done by Max, as an afterburn gizmo experiment.

here is the wireframe

Gizmogalore duh =p?

Afterburn got great gizmo system, but like $imon said, it’s not really fluid dynamiced. Yet it’s still a great pluging, artist can get exciting result with right factors.

The fire - I twicked the motion and shape with AB wind and void, and also little spinning from AB swirl.

The smoke - normal particle system, but the ground shockwave wavefront has .5 density, so it was a pain in ass in render.

The time - I believe in FX shots, people spend equivalent hours both in working and rendering, so…it took five days to work and five nights to render. Not really a long project, but it’s all about render and error, and it took vigor VERY heavily to continuously twick and render and twick again…Some dude like me is not that good enough to see through its world of wires and meshes…=)

Talking about the real fluid fire, I really should sit and wait for chaosgroup’s aura project, just like duke “when it’s done” nukem.

looks fantastic! :scream:

this is looking awesome.

though it seems like it’ll be pointless to ask for the animation.

I’m impressed  you’re my GURU
Have you ever though about writing a AfterBurn tutorial ?

#11

very cool particles work…i like the colors and the mood!

#12

whaoo excelent, very apocalyptic, i love the form of fire.
do you have a animation of this.

#13

I don’t really have a rendered animation right now.

Since this is a large scale explosion,
everything in the scene moves slo
w~ like what they really should do.

I spent sometimes struggling last week, for to render or not,
and I decided to put this cpu render resouce (and time) into my photoshop and finish my comic book project =D.

Even when it’s in 320x240 resolution, it still takes 40mins per frame…and people can see nothing when it’s scaled down like this. =(

So, I decided to keep it this way, a nice looking still of an great explosion.

#14

please please PLE~~~~SE render it out, like when you’re on vacation or something.

its amazing!

#15

Awsomeee!!! amazing work… The fire looks very real.
I wana see the animation too but i understand, we all need more time.
