fx wars work - Teleportation

#1

Hi,

I just wanna say there’s been pretty good works here. I was working on my own reel and looking for the right video footage for my reel and came to find out one of the fx wars source video footage would be fitting quite well for one of my project. Here’s 2 works that I’ve used one the fx wars source footages and the other one is downloaded from the net. Click on the images ot watch the videos. thanks…

I’m glad somebody used the footage, though I can’t jump like that other guy… anywho, that’s pretty good work, what method did you use… would be cool to see a more varied effect between the two.

I see Roberto reading this thread – is it too late to enter?

Thanks Solitude,

I’ve used fluids in A.Maya. and composited in A.Effects. It would be much better if I had a better quality of the footage…the one I downloaded from cgtalk was missing several frames and the video file wasn’t high quality enough for me to use.

You will get a special mention in the results thread for the current mini challenge.

Sorry about the quality of that file, I was the one that made it… It was pretty blurry, so that’s why we did a complete re shoot / idea. You did pretty good with it though. I think we just have to use a dif. camera next time, we had a hard time with exposure and back focus, we’ll probably re do some effects gag shots like this later with a better camera. I’ll probably put them online again too, as it’s really hard to find any footage to do effects with.

It would be much better using a higher rez footage. I was doing another project where I put track marks and track my head. But sadly I used my brother SOny dvd kameras and the resolution wasn’t good enough to track. I try using different softwares and wasn’t patient enough to track by hand. The idea was to add 3d face model on it with my hand and I remove my face and inside you could see a electronic board, wires and leds.

well… it’s DV res, which is pretty normal, and getting anything hi-def is kind of hard. The problem i think was the worst was the back focus problem because it made the entire image out of focus and therefore impossible to do anything with pretty much. I think we’ve figured it out, so if we have to use that camera again we’ll be able to do it better next time
