Hello, I am planning on going into the game artist line of work eventually and I have a few questions about it; Firstly do school qualifications matter that much? or is it more portfolio?
I have quite good skills in both texturing and modelling environments and have worked in a few engines, but I fear my results from school after I leave will not be that good.
So do potential employers for video game artists look more at my portfolio of work, or my school results? Also I will probably go on a specialised course for 3D art or something of that sort after I finish school, will my school results matter much?
Thanks, GHL.
