FumeFx Vray Lights?

#1

I have recently been experimenting with fumefx with vray. However i don’t understand how to use lights with my fumefx simulations. If i add the Vraylight it doesn’t affect the fumefx at all and if i add a omni light the entire simulation just appears white.

I have added the light to the illumination parameters section and played round with the setting but still nothing happens.

Maybe someone can help?

I always make a separate light rig for my fumefx-es, so I’d suggest you do the same and light it with some good ol’ spots

OK thanks i will try that

do you use vray for your renders if so does fumefx work well with it?

What Hristo is saying, Fume does not support VRay Lights.

Fume only supports lights that can have atmospheric shadows enabled, any form of traditional light (including spot lights with vray shadows for example) but not photometric lights (vray lights). Theres a difference between vray shadows on say a spot light, and a vray light.

You just need to ad them to the list, enable shadows, and enable atmospheric shadows.

Oh right I understand now. thanks for your help
