FumeFX problem - render blank if camera inside sim volume?

#1

Hi all!

I don’t know if it’s something I’m doing wrong but I’ve gone through all the settings and just can’t find why this is happening.

Seems that when the camera is inside the simulation volume, the simulation renders blank (even if the smoke is nowhere near the camera) :surprised
Could this be a limitation of the voxel engine?
I see no reason why one wouldn’t be able to fly through the actual smoke.

I thought maybe something to do with the minimum clipping distance of the camera, but again this shouldn’t affect the whole volume.

Anyone had this problem before?

Thanks in advance!

Do you happen to render with mental ray without autovolume turned on?

Oops, totally forgot to mention it’s mental ray yes. Where is this autovolume setting?
Thanks for your reply!

It’s worked, brilliant :applause:
Virtual beer to you my friend!

In the renderer tab, the rendering settings. The raytrace section.
