FumeFX - Best Unit Scale?

#1

Hi there,

I have a question about unit scale and FumeFX

I have a test scene that has its units set up to 1 Unit = 1.0 Centimeters
I've set up a basic car model about 300 Centimeters long which emits FumeFX particles.
The problem is that the height of the flames are really short and the smoke rises really slowly.

[ul]
[li]Is there a System unit scale that is better suited for FumeFX[/li][li]Or are there any settings in the FumeFX that can scale the height of the flames and the speed of the smoke?[/li][/ul]
Thanks!

There is no ‘best’ scale. You should bake/pointcache your animation, import to a new scene, then make your FFX there. Then you can use the rescale world unites tool to change scale, and the ffx simulation parameters to better fit it like time scale, bouyancy, temperature, velocities, these all come into play.
