From modelling to finished animated character with minimal animation - I NEED ADVICE

#1

Hi,

So I have a very important project I need to get done in 9 days. It is a mission impossible as I’ve never done anything like this before. I’m borderline panicking, I need some help with how to approach this.

It is going to be a realistic looking model giving a speech on stage for 6 mins. I’m only creating the character and his outfit in medium detail. Some basic hand gestures and I’m using a lipsync plug in called Voice-o-matic and facial studio to knock out the face modelling and face animation.
Then comes the modelling, texturing, and animation of the body+ncloth for certain pieces in his outfit. I am using Maya for all of this and also have Mudbox and would like to try and utilize it if anybody thinks it might be of help with the clothes or something.

^ the full body shot of the guy.

Outfit wise I was thinking about only using ncloth for the extension piece hanging down from his waist and the piece that’s dangling behind his head piece (invisible in ^this angle) but since I will have him wave first I wasn’t sure if it would look bad or anything. Let me know what you think.

So I’m reaching out to all you awesome 3D peeps ( being a 2D guy myself for all my life untill last week, you can imagine anxiety building up ) how should I approach this project?? What kind of work flow should I follow? What do I need to watch out for and how the heck do I deliver on time with acceptable quality? Thank you so much for all of your help in advance.
