Forearm Roll rig from the Body Language book

#1

Hi guys,

i was reading the Body Language Advanced 3d Character Rigging book http://www.amazon.com/Body-Language-Advanced-Character-Rigging/dp/0470173874/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1314993282&sr=8-1

And i was following the book when i got to the arm rigging part. It has a forearm bone rig idea but the explanation is really weird to the point i couldn’t follow. The writter starts applying multiple constraints to the same object (which maya won’t let me) and by the end the actual controller has nothing linked to it, so it doesn’t controll a thing.

If anyone has read this book and was willing to help me i’d be happy

thanks in advance

Hi!

The constrains is for getting a 50% rotation in the forearm-joint when you rotate the hand-joint.
Is that answer to your question?

Thanks for the reply man,

but it was not what i was looking for. I get the concept of the forearm rotation, where it rotates some percent along the Y axis, but doesn’t follow on the X and the Z axis of the hand rotation. But my problem was that the explanation and concepts on the book look very weird and i couldn’t replicate exactly as the author did.
