I am not sure if it was intentional or not
but the predators ability to see in infrared and other spectrums apparently,
solved a little known real world problem of invisibility

If indeed you could become invisible you would also become completely
blind during your invisibilty state.

This is because the light that was somehow bending around you and*
hiding you from others would also not reach your own retinas
plunging you into complete darkeness.
The predators multi-spectrum helmet optics solved this problem nicely.
