hi guys
i need help with a little problem concerning the sea, you see i have to create sea waves , and i decided to use mental ray in 3ds max and realflow, the problem is that i don’ really know how to make the foam in the sea,
i was looking for something that can cover the entire mesh with foam(sort of a diffuse procedural map)
and that covers with foam “pinching areas” you know where the vertices in the mesh bend and almost touch(like in are wave with more foam in the tip), i know that dreamscape has a shader like this, the problem is that i cannot uset it with mr
i use 3ds max 2010
if you know a shader like this, or where to look for it, please tell me,
or maybe if there is not such thing then tell me how they do it in movies a nd such , i have heard they use shaders for the foam(but never heard much more) if i have to script it then i would have lot of trouble 'cause i don’t really know how to
