fluids and particles

#1

Hi, i know that the fluid system allows for the generation of particles for droplets, float and tracer (i’m having trouble getting these to work though), but can the fluid mesh be used to generate standard particles. I’ve tried adding a particle emitter to the domain but this doen’t work.

In order to get the particles to work, simply create a cube anywhere in your scene – may be outside of the fluid domain! --, set it to particles in the fluid settings, and choose between drops, floats or tracer… That’s about it.

As far as I know, it’s not really possible to directly emit particles from the fluid mesh… Maybe it can be done via a script which reads in the baked fluid mesh per frame and uses this mesh as a particle emitter. But that’s just guessing from my side, since I know less then nothing about scripting.
