Hello,
I made a 2D container with static velocity field.
I want my particles to follow the stream. I did set affect objects (fluid/particles)
My particles don’t seem to follow the painted velocity field.
thanks,

Make sure the fluid is applied as a field to the particles in the dynamic relationship editor. On the particles make conserve = 0 so they exactly follow the flow. Also make sure the fluid sizeZ is large enough that the particles are inside the fluid thickness.
While we are on this topic, is there a way to modify the magnitude of the fluid velocity on the particles? Setting conserve to 0 will disable the possibility to use other fields together with a fluid field.
Thanks Duncan
Now I want to use a 3D Fluid container with static velocity grid, to drive my ocean spray particles.
I used the creation expression from the Maya Fluids DVD, but I want to surf my spray particles with a fluid velocity field.
This is what I have:
I made 2 oceanshaders with a little time difference to calculate the velocity.
How can I put this vertical ocean velocity onto the particle spray?..
thanks,
bern
