The LeapFrog Animation Department consists of a team of 35+ people who work on 6 different animated platforms that range from animated video titles on DVD to handheld and console games. We do a good amount of original LeapFrog character design (internal character development) for our titles, as well as Disney/Pixar, Nickelodeon, and Cartoon Network licensed titles including: Sponge Bob, Fosters, Dora, Thomas, Backyardigans, Nemo, Toy Story, Cars, Ratatouille, and others.
We hold ourselves to a high level of animation quality using 2D character animation. Most of our animation pre-production and production work occurs in Adobe Flash 8, using hand drawn frames in conjunction with a “digital puppeting technique.” The LeapFrog Animation department consists of a top notch staff of Animation Professionals who are part of the larger San Francisco Bay Area artists’ community. In this Animation Department we thrive on creativity and collaboration in a supportive environment. We also know how to have fun.
LeapFrog is a children’s’ learning media and educational toy company (see www.leapfrog.com and www.leapsterworld.com). The company is based in Emeryville, CA (right down the street from Disney/Pixar) and we are looking for people who can work on-site. Pay is competitive and based on experience and capabilities.
If you think you may be interested in joining our team please send a resume and cover letter via email to Dan Roose, Animation Department Coordinator: droose@leapfrog.com.
The cover letter should include an overview of your animation experience, goals, and interest in working with us. You may look on the LeapFrog corporate site for a copy of the specific job description.
