I’m really trying to refine some new skills before school starts and recently I have been exposed to matte painting, I’ve really been missing out. I’m trying find stuff on the internet but there really isn’t much this forum is the best i’ve found.
Please any advice on what I should experiment with, links, critics on what I should do, anything would be greatly appreciated.

As for your matte… I think you should perhaps try to pick a starting image that is more natural. Your plate already seems like it’s been heavily processed.
Using a more natural source image could give you more options when deciding on the final look of your image.
