First Demo Reel Draft. Input Needed/Appriciated

Hey Guys My name is Stefan, i go to the Art institute of Pittsburgh and hopefully graduating here in a few weeks with a BS in VFX. while i possess the ability to do a variety of things both 3d wise and compositing wise i enjoy simulations the most by far. Fluid dynamics get me wet :wink: haha jk jk lets keep this professional. I need help getting through some of these issues and input is Always something that i look forward to. :beer:

the majority of my work is Realflow :banghead: , but i have also focused on Rayfire and FumeFx so those WiP’s will be a part of the second release of this Reel. I have 5-6 weeks to finish all of this so dont hold back. Give it to me straight, if some of them need scrapped i need to know ASAP.

So first off, if dynamics and fluids are what you’re interested in then remove the environment and the character / screen stuff. It doesn’t represent what job you’re looking for.

That only leaves you with the two fluid tests though so I would suggest to do further tests that are more real world examples. That may seem fairly mundane but it’s important to show how well you understand physics and how different fluids interact given their different properties.

How does water spill out of a cup? Or how does an ocean react when it hits the shore? How would a really thick liquid move when something gets dropped in it, etc…
