hi, this is one of my first ball animation assignments to get the concept of weight and timing.
First Basic ball animation
These are the times where I wish youtube could let me scrub thru the reel like quicktime.
Try tapping on the table while imagining how the scene plays out to get a sense of timing.
- Your pendulum feels fast and needs more ease in and outs at the extremes.
- The first bounce of the yellow ball look fine, but after that you start to ease into the contact positions, which is wrong.
- Also look into the arcs of the yellow, the energy seem to drop suddenly after the a few bounces.

hey thanks very much.
for watching closely and commenting… i was aware about a few problems myself but just left it at that coz i got busy with the next assignments… but still … comments are always welcome…
and also i was viewing ur portfolio and saw ur model of the audi tt that u made in 3ds max. .just wanted to ask if thats polygon modelling or nurbs surface modelling… i am specifically quite interested in automobile modelling but always get stuck at some point or the other…
and also, most of the automobile modelling samples that i see online are made in max… and i normally use maya… could u just clarify what advantage max has over maya as to such car modelling or other similar modellling. if it does have any?? are there some better tools in max for such car modelling works or what???
I’ve never used nurbs before. The car was done ages ago in max.
polygon modeling in max VS maya? None… I’ve worked in max for 3 years before switching to maya for the last year, have not found anything lacking regarding normal poly modeling.
I kinda gave up modeling a while ago, Concentrating on animation now.
