Hi, nice nic this have potential, try to add more up and down move on hips . when you make a steps you transfer your weight to one leg so all body fall down and of course to left of right leg, Try chec this in real life or find some reference and study this. Good luck

I worked my way through this one:
http://www.fjasmin.net/walk_cycle_tutorial/index.html

Some of his examples are a bit exaggerated, so don’t necessarily try to match the angles/rotations and such from his examples. Still, he does a good job of explaining how the various body parts move during a walk.

Some things I noticed with your walk:
-The hip needs more movement.
-The lower arm sorta snap backwards.
-The ankles doesn’t really bend when the leg is all the way back, and starts coming forward.
-The leg probably hangs in the back position a little bit too long.
-The feet maybe needs to plant a little faster after the contact point.

Hope that helps.

Rasch
Thank you very much, this was really helpful.
I consider all feedbacks and tutorials for a new animation below, this time it was much easier but I still care about timing and spacing =(

Much better.

-He looks a bit stiff. Not sure if this is supposed to be a robot/puppet, in which case it’s probably fine.
If you want it to look more life like, you should add more side to side bending in the spine. Richard Williams teaches that the shoulders should generally oppose the waist/belt line. Have a look at this:

That bend is a curve from the hips up to the shoulders, not just the shoulder bending.

-I also believe that his lower arms should straighten more in the back position. People don’t usually walk around with their arms bent. Also, you should probably add some drag (successive breaking of joints) to the lower arm when it begins to move forward.

-Some more drag to the feet would also make it look less robotic.

-The lower legs could probably be lifted a bit higher, to help with even more movement on the ankles. Snappy feet and ankle movement tend to go a long way towards making it less robotic, in my opinion.

-The up/down head wobble is probably a bit extreme. If you want more feeling of weight, try bending the upper body. See the squash and stretch bit in that previous link I sent.

Good luck, and hope my comments help.
