Hi, I am still in school and am looking for some extra personal modeling projects to work on.
I am not much of a concept artists myself, so I was wondering what would be the best way to get cartoony-style reference images for characters for me to model?
You could try searching for ‘model sheets’, that could turn up quite a few images from past 2D films (think Disney era).
You could also search sites like CGHub. If you find something there, it is polite to ask the artist if they mind you using their work for reference. And once you’re done, always attribute your source and link back to it.
