Film industry standard

#1

Hey guys. Im gonna work in film industry and I want to make visual effects and compositing. So I know that Maya is an industry standard but before I started learning Maya I learnt Cinema(basic) and it’s the best software for me, I really enjoyed it. Learning Maya is hard for me. So the question: Will I be able to work in film industry if I know c4d, houdini, fusion(davinci) well? And if I will be what can I do there with these programs?

Sorry for my English
Thanks

You will need to know what a given studio’s pipeline is based on. So Maya -and also Nuke-are also extremely common in pipelines. C4D for VFX less so. Houdini a good choice.

Basically check the career pages of your dream studios for the job you want to do. Match what they are using or you might not get the gig. Competition is way too stiff to come up short on software knowledge.
