Fields or Vertex Map to drive a pose morph?

#1

Is there a way to use fields or vertex maps to drive a pose morph?
I’m animating a simple pose morph which is basically pushing the geometry upwards.
Right now, the animated morph tag is linear, meaning the geometry is being pushed all at once.
I’d like to use a vertex map instead (or any other method, really) to reveal the geometry gradually.
Any idea?

Not literally what you’re after, but Chris Schmidt from RocketLasso showed off Pose Morph with Fields just recently. He’s using Voronoi Fracture, but hopefully this will help you achieve your end goal.

I’ve linked to a specific time as it’s a long video:

He over complicated it.
I did that part with a simple voronoi, offset fragment and a spherical field.
The tricky part is driving a pose morph. I’m not even sure it is possible.
Thanks for sharing the link, though.

In that part I linked you to he is using a Pose Morph with a Morph tag to drive the Voronoi Fracture breaking with smoothing and a vertex map. You need to watch from the point I linked to approx 1h:29m. Surely the same technique can be used for your application.

Oh, sorry, I had missed that.
For some reason the first time I clicked on the clip it started from another part.
Thanks, that helped!

This seems to be an old thread, but I was looking for the same thing.
Actually it is possible to achieve with the Morph deformer.
First create the morph state with the point morph tag.
Next add a Morph deformer. Drop the morph tag in the Morph slot of the Morph deformer.
The Morph deformer can be driven with fields.
