For some reason I don’t get update e-mails from this thread telling me that there are new posts.

Good work Tony.

I really like how the shapes on the back came out the front is a bit boxy.
So put some curves in the shape and don’t forget wells for the wheels.

I’m working on a new render of shot 6 now will post when I can.

Hey, been awhile since I posted something. Glad to see “The best” is still hanging in there for “Boy1da”.

As for the car model, I agree with boy1da. The front is boxy and dont forget the tire wells like he said.

Okay everyone…
I have legally changed my name to Juan, so now I can be a kool animator.:cool:

I’ve stared to animate shot 2, I just did some dog animation.
At the end the cam moves up because the boy is supposed to stand up there.

I’ve just updated the video of the dog ,I put some boy animation in now.

I´m MAD from MADstudios…
I´m a composer, an actor and a play-writer from Argentina.
(Thought I should introduce myself)
I´m studying musical composition at the university of argentina (UCA)
And I may be your musician for this short if…and onlfy if…you like my music…

So, here´s a demo I made right now. It was made in 20 mins. and it´s pure improvisation, so don´t expect much. But It got out kinda well…

I really like the dog animation BOY1DA. The only thing I would change is the way the dogs ears bend. It kinda bends too sharp. I dunno, maybe its just me. :wise:

Hey Guys me again,

Just looked at the clips there for some input. The rough clip of the dog seems fine but the ears do look at little od at one point, they seem to be moving a little too much for emotion or gravity. But otherwise good.

The other animation with the camera movement looks nice. I see the strange motion blur effects. Very weird… It would be nice to see a still cam shot as well but to be honest I don’t hate the moving cam. It does put an emphasis on the jumping dog.

I also had a go at some modelling since the last post :stuck_out_tongue: I had a go at a car. To be honest I am not sure if it will work or not. Might be too toony but let me know and I’ll finish it if it works.

I did not see the character stuff either so if you want I could give one of them a go. I like the idea of the fat kid…Maybe its the little fat kid in me trying to say hello :smiley: Let me know if this is OK or if me using LW will cause any problems rigging. I don’t think it has in the past but you never know.

Hey again guys

Well I am pretty much done with the car (minus the crits) As this is not a main prop the detail is not too crazy, but minimal anyway because it’s a toon.

TheBest: Thanks for the comments :slight_smile: and congrats on all the sterling work you have done recently.

OK here are the pics C&c welcome. If it’s all OK I will upload the OBJ file to the server.

In the mean time I will put together a driver for this beast :smiley: and then maybe a a Fat Kid!! Long live the fat kid!! Every cartoon worth it’s salt has a fat kid!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Looking good.

Some Small comments.

The scale of the steering wheel and seat look a bit small.
The wind shield could be curved a bit to show a better hi-light on the glass.
And maybe some lines at the back for the trunk.

To be honest I’m happy with it as is… so the tweaks are up to you.

Drop it on the server when ready.

I may try to work in a car crash, when the dog jumps into the street.
But I’ll see how shot 2 works out first.

Yo Big O, nothing gets past you. I noticed the seats when I was rendering but thought I would chance it :stuck_out_tongue: and the boot/trunk…well I was just lazt there :smiley:

OK updates:

Chunky seats and steering wheel, and some curving to the windshield

A boot/trunk to put the golf clubs in…yea like I play golf…

The little monster is up on the server now so feel free to play about with it and let me know if you have any problems with the OBJ file etc.

I was away the weekend and when I come back, I see that some of you haven´t slept much these days, have you?
Hey “New Juan”, if we swap names, you don´t only get to be a crapy animator, you get a ninja dog, a hot girlfriend and an animator Job in a games company!! Yes, I got a job as animator, I am starting next monday(not tomorrow) and I will have very little spare time at the begining, because is so far from home that if everything goes well I will have to move. So I won´t be of much help for while here, unless I get fired…

You are all doing good, like the car, you model very fast, huh?

Your truck, with a bit of roundness in the hood, 10 points from me!

“New Juan”
I thought of the dog with a much higher level of energy, his hops snapier, and before the last hop, he should anticipate a bit, and I would make him hop like attacking the ball.
When he sits, dogs become crazy when they give you a ball and you don´t paly with them, he barks, he pushes your hand with his nose, he stares at you, hops around, etc.
Ah, and last thing, dogs are the happiest creature on this planet, they are dumb-happy, my dog moves his tail all day long, even dreaming. My next life, I want to be a family-dog!

Glad you like the car, and as for my speed. I generally rattle along as quick as possible to keep interested :stuck_out_tongue: Not always a good thing but as this was a background prop I didn’t want to spend too long on it.

Anyway hopefully you can still pop in and keep in touch.

As for my animation I’m not sure if my skill level is able to
do all them fancy animation things you talk of, I guess that is why you are
the real animator and I’m just a cheap photo copy, you get what you pay for.

I will try my best to add some more life to the dog,
I stopped animating him after he sat down because I wanted to work on the boy.
Which I found is much harder to make look good.

A small update to the last file. The boy is a bit soggy but what can I say…
