btw, how can I enable FPS display in my viewport, without making a preview? Is that possible in max? Also, I am doing everything as 25FPS,ok?

Yea, well the first shot would of been final if no animators had joined on.
That would of been the end of this project, but we kept going
then Juan and yourself jumped on.
So it may or may not change based on our progress.
I’m not sure what you mean by FPS display.
not sure why you would want that.
but you can go to the controls in the bottom right of max
click on the hand icon and change it to the foot step or walk trough icon.
You then can use your arrow keys on your keyboard to walk around your shot .
Is that what you mean ?

The frame rate is 30 fps ntsc
EDIT: oh you mean frames per sec not first person shooter ?

No, I meant about a visual display of the current frame rate. It’s a part of UI showing the display rate, so when U play the anim in viewport U can see whether or not it’s truly realtime.

The bulb smash, do you have a secret trick to do it?
When you said I animate the ramp, you where talking about the material, weren´t you? because my bulb material is black in the material editor, I don´t see any ramp…
How is shot 3 going, is it ready to start when I finish this one?
I like the right arm much better.
It is much more of a punctuation !
I still think it needs to be higher up in the frame.
The palm of his hand is about chin level now, rise his palm up
to about eye level or forehead level. Do you know how
to use layers with a biped, you can raise his arm without having to
key it all.
And maybe one more move of his head to the left.
I’m happy with it…
You can do some hair movement now and your done !
We have a few options for the smashing of the bulb.
1- particle animation
2- hand animated.
If you are in the mood to animate that , then go ahead it is easy to do.
you have to make a copy of the bulb and link the copy to the first one.
you don’t have to link it if you don’t need to it will be a swap out…
So when the first bulb hits his head the second bulb breaks apart.
you will have to cut up the second bulb , then animate the parts falling down.
in max you can animate the visibility of an object .
so you turn off the first bulb and turn on the second
one when it hits.
You can do this or I will… I’ll leave it up to you.
I will set up shot 3 for you now it will be ready by
the time you have your next update.
I like the second one…
I may have some ideas for some other styles as well but this one will do for now.

The only thing is that the biped has 2 layers of animation, because when I collapse them I get some unwanted pops. I don´t undestand… Just render the top layer.

hey guys, haven replied here for 2 days 'cause I got assigned to do some kitchen salt commercial, here in Serbia. It’s also done in Max, so I am spending some time learning to rig and skin in it. Commercial shouldn’t take more than a week or so, and I wanted U to know the reason for me being delayed.

As for me I’ve started rendering shot 8.
This shot will take a lot longer then the last shot to render.
So I may be rendering it for about a week…
I’m using 4 systems but one is way too old and slow to handle
v-ray so I may build another system this weekend using an old
dual p3 mother board and chip… so I can have one more system on the job.
Hopefully I can get that up and running without too many problems.

Both chips and ram. All it needs is a case and a hard drive.
I have an old case but not sure if it will fit yet, and I’m sure I can dig
up an hard drive from one of my other systems.
The system that I will replace is a single p3 cpu mother board… that’s
the one that is too slow for the render farm now. It works okay with the scan line
render but needs more memory for use with v-ray.
I think that is more of a ram and virtual memory issue but
none the less that system is way too slow.
Wow a whole week to render 7 secs!!! man how are you going to render longer shots?!?
The poor puppy is missing his knees and elbows, and an extra joint in the spine…
I am taking my time to pose them properly and build all the main breakdowns, so when you watch it you see the whole performance…
I am going as cartoony as possible with the dog.
