Here is shot 5 fully rendered and composited.
Just click the image below to get the video file.
ENJOY !

While shot 5 was rendering I had a chance to complete
all the the final storyboards. So I’ll post them
feel free to give your input.

Here are some more things that will need to be modeled to complete the shots above.

We are going at a good rate of speed and if we keep up this pace
we should have this thing done in no time !

#442

shot five is great, really well done, made me laugh too

#443

That shot looks pro, guys!!
Congratulations to all of us!:bounce::bounce:
I am working on my update, I most sure will have it ready to clean up tonight or tomorow.
Since I will have lots of spare time this week, I can make one of those new shots and shot 4 (the bouncing ball shot) if you (Omar) don´t want to make all the boring ones.

Keep up working hard!!

#444

congrats for all of us as juan said great shot guys Iam now really excited to get this one finished lets rock the place guys we can do it weeeee:bounce:

#445

I’m really glad that everyone is happy with the results.
So am I…

Juan you are a true gentleman, It would be great to have
you help out with the smaller shots. I will need some
time to set up the camera for shot 4 , I will have to find a good angle.
So hold off on that shot for a while.

However shot 3 is free, I spoke to Jon a few days ago…
He is too busy at the moment to complete shot 3.
He will let me know if he will be available for another shot in the future.

So I am going to assign shot 3 to you.
It is very very important that we do the older shots
before we move on to the new ones.
We have to fill in all the gaps between shot 1 up to shot 8.

Now only if we can get our modelers back into action.
Tony is starting to get lonely modeling all by him self.:stuck_out_tongue:

Jayreef, how’s it going haven’t seen you around here in along time.

#446

not bad thanks, have not done any 3D in about a year, but we play life the way it pans out I suppose.

looking forward to some more stuff from you guys, great stuff so far

#447

hey Omar, thanks for the quick help, all is ok now.
I wanted to elaborate on the 2nd shot story a bit, while I start working on it. Here’s what I gathered from the animatic file, correct me (U and everybody involved) if I am wrong:

dog is playing with his ball, pushing it to his boss who is playing his fav game. cause of being interrupted, the boy bounces the ball back hard at the dog in ?anger?
I’ve browsed the thread and the ftp in search of a written or drawn story for this shot without luck, and since I got involved late in this, it’s hard to move from a starting point… any help appreciated!

great work so far, all of U!
cheers

I don’t think we did any info on what happens in shot 2.
I didn’t think we would of made it this far so we only wrote
what would happen in the first shot .

So here is what happens in shot 2.

The dog pushes the ball with his nose to the boy.

The boy gets up and throws the ball into the street in anger…
The dog goes after the ball, cars crash off screen
so we will only hear the sound of cars crashing…

The boy looks down in shock to see the dog comes
back unhurt and starts bouncing on the ball for more.

Hope that helps

#449

oh yes, that helps a lot.
will start blocking today and show some actual progress.
cheers

Tony is starting to get lonely modeling all by him self.:stuck_out_tongue:

hehehe I`am having all the fun alone :scream:

the new updates:bounce: hope u like it

#451

After watching the 1st shot and getting to know the concept, I came up with this version of the 2nd shot start.
2ndshot_start
NOthing much, dog will follow the ball, of course, just wondering what U think.
I am having some issues in max along the way, and Juan is resolving them nicely so far, thanks Juan.

thebest: good job so far, keep’em coming!

cheers

#452

That light looks a bit “Tim-burtony”, love it.
Sorry to hear about another loss in the team, but, I get the best shot on the other side…
All the smacks, hits, slaps and smashes to the kid and the dog, let me do it!!!
Here is my update, left some clean up, work out the face and the hair.
preview

I´ll do the small shots when I get frustrated with the big ones, so give´em together to me.
As I said, I will be bored at home because this week I have 2 days off and I am going nowhere, so I´ll be waiting for that big shot.

Wouldn´t it be fun to have a wheel bouncing when the car crashes, before the dog cames up?
I´ll be waiting for comments.

#453

Just a thought Dejan:
That dog is hyper active, jumpy and dumb, so why don´t you introduce the character before he passes the ball, I mean, make him play around it, bark at it, smell it, and hit it with energy. Right now ( i know, you just started working on it) it looks like a lonely dog, not the kind og playful dumb I think Omar is looking for.

#454

Hey Juan, I know what U mean and I agree. I saw the dog smelling and inspecting the ball in the first shot, so I thought it could continue onto 2nd shot.

I’ll continue and incorporate what U suggested, thx
dejan

#455

You know what you can do?
make him roll on his back while trying to catch the ball, dogs do that all the time and is fun to watch. I t can be very difficult to get it right, but it would look great!

#456

I just woke up from my beauty sleep.
the bad news is that I’m still ugly,:argh: but the good news is
that I have some kool wips to check out !

Dejan, good start…

I really like your ball animation, the ball looks a bit heavy.
but the movement is very smooth and subtle.

The camera move looks good too.
You might want to hold it facing the dog house a lot longer.

As for the dog, don’t use the first shot for inspiration.

I was really at the end of my rope when I did that animation.
At that point I was the only one working, and I was so tired
I just wanted to get it over with. If I get the chance.
I will make the dog pounce out of the dog house not just walk out
like he did.

Maybe I’ll ask one of you guys to help me to re-animate that shot
if we have the time or energy at the end …

I agree with Juan’s comments except for the last one
with the dog rolling around on his back, that may be a bit too much
for the shot and the point is to keep the dog moving forward.
laying on his back will just stop the flow.

If you want to try playful stuff, think of a dog playing
with a mouse… pushing it with his nose , growling at it, barking.
getting surprised when it moves… but try to keep him moving forward
and moving with the cam.

Juan, your file is corrupt, it plays the start but not the end.
you may have to upload it again.

Tony, that lamp looks good but just as Juan said it looks like a Tim Burton style.
So to fix this , just take out the bends in the curves… and you also might
want to taper the top of the pole or just make the base a bit wider.

#457

Dejan.
Another point I forgot to make about the ball animation… the ball does not have to move
all at once it can move a bit then stop move some more then stop , then the dog pushes it
some more until it gets to the boy. that will give you some space to add character
beats with the dog.

#458

I just got another idea for shot 2… It also may be a bit too much
but it will still keep the camera moving.

The ball moves like it is alive… the dog is thinking what the …? as he chases it.

Then we spot the lizard “GEX” running under the ball… the dog steps on GEX’s tail
Gex drops the ball and falls face down. The ball rolls and knocks the boys game out of his
hands. The boy gets mad.

Just an idea… feel free to ignore it or add your input ???

#459

That idea may be fun Omar
I uploaded it again, let me know if ot is corrupted, because I tried the other link after your reply, and it worked for me… no idea what happened.
Here it is uploaded

Just for your knowledge , my dog can roll on his back while moving forward, he makes something like a judo backroll.:applause:

#460

You are soo very close to your final pass.
Still a few very very small tweaks…

When he is rubbing his head, maybe make him move his head side to side
like he is saying ‘no’ very slowly or like he is dizzy…
so maybe roll his head a bit.

The right arm still bugs me a bit… needs to be a bit stiffer.
maybe he lifts it a bit higher too.

I think you can hold the light bulb up even longer. :lightbulb
There is a pretty big pause before the lamp shades hit him.
If you feel it is too long then make the shades come into play
sooner.

You also might want to make the lamp shades see trough.
It may help to see him better at the end… or delete the top
and bottom of the shades and put a shell modifier on it.

And you can and some hair movement,
but don’t start that until We are both happy with the final version.
Great work getting better with every pass.

What kind of ninja dog do you have man  !?!?!
You gotta film that and put it on you tube for the would to
see your amazing ninja dog ! it will be famous
