Okay Kool.
Yea it looks more like a billiards or cricket ball right now.

It would be good if you can do all the secondary animation for me,
you can take a break from rigging for a while.

Here is what you can try.
For the letters, I don’t know if you have ever use the “FLEX” modifier.
Or the spring controler… I was thinking you can put one of those on the letters
to do the soft body look automatically. You can also try it on th ball’s deformer.
Or you can say screw that and just squash it all by hand keying it.
It is up to you…

It would help allot, and give me time to work on some other
parts of the shot. If not just let me know and I’ll keep going at it.

The file is on the fetch server in your “JON” folder called " Shot_1_01.zip "
All animation and maps are in a zip file. I use v-ray…
You may have to change some maps if you want to use the scan-line
or just turn off the GI settings to make the renders go faster, or just stick with
the preview view port hardware renders…

Hey Big O all the above looks good

I think i agree with omega with the lower case e I think it compliments the rest a bit better.

I like the stroke effect, I wasn’t sure how that would look but it’s a nice touch.

The animation looks good, there is something bugging me about the last bounce of the title (off the F) it looks a little quick or something, this might be due to the panning as well, not sure. Just an observation.

Glad you found some room for the junk :slight_smile: and the lawn mower!!!

Speaking of which, have you got any updates on the beast Bot?? looking forward to seeing him in the flesh :slight_smile:

Omar, I posted the new animation file on the server under your folder… It is a rough animation at this poitn, but it is more of what I had in mind… let me know what you think…

I think it would be okay if you rendered it 320x240 instead of full highres 720 480 for the test renders… Seems like it would be easier on your comps… lol.

I’m sorry for being away for some days. My friends dragged me from my computer and didn’t let me go see my computer. :smiley:
It was hell, but a fun hell.

Anyway. My working style is in moments. I work 2 or 3 days full days, and then I need to relax, and a few days later I work a few days on it :slight_smile:
I guess it has to do with the fact I don’t like to get bored :wink:

Anyway, I’ll just do the materials (some mats are linked to a different HDRI file, which needs to be relocated so it works elsewhere too), and some basic modeling. Then I’ll upload it, and work on it some more. This way there’s already a back-up, in case anything happens. :rolleyes:

Hey there… Here is a video test of the ball… Input is strongly encouraged. The ending bounces are still a wip for sure… The mid ball bouncing just needs some polishing…

I decided, rather than adding on to the current rig, I am going to do a strictly stretch bone rig for the dog. There will be no Ik, fk, or whatever, it will be point helpers with bones… It is sorda like FK, but with the stretchyness factor! :slight_smile: Pecasse!

That is great. I was going through that whole video set while I was animating… lol. Had the same thoughts. I found that using the flex modifier doesn’t deform correctly when the text rolls in… It makes the normals flip or something, depending on the speed… I will probably try the fdd. I will try the fdd on the ball too…

I took your advise… I used the rig ball, a little more work, but looks much better. Now that I have the hang of it, it gets easier from here.

I agree, it looks much better.

The “H” I think moves the best.
The “T” looks good too…
I think that the “F” needs to “flex” faster.

I think that the “e” gets crushed a bit too much…
Oh by the way… you have 2 E’s there, one on top of the other.
You can delete the Uppercase one.

Also the lower case letters should squash as they come up.

The movement of the ball looks great, I really like the bounces
when it hits the floor. Maybe a bit too much S&S ( squash and stretch )
over all, maybe tone it down just a tad. You will need a extra bounce when it hits the
deck that the boy is laying on, then it rolls to a stop.
I’m working on the deck now.

Looks great could not have done it better myself .

Here is the stone deck or patio that the boy will lay on.
I hope it looks like stone not wood :stuck_out_tongue:

I wanted to do a wood one but might be a bit too much wood.
I still may put a wood one further back in the shot if I need to fill out the space
in front of the door. Don’t need to worry about it yet,because you can’t see the door in the
first shot.

Just for your info, I am compressing the videos with cleaner… Trying to give boy1da’s server a break… These files are 320x240 compressed – 100-400k. Not bad at all… Well, here is the new update.

As for the patio, love it. I like the stone… Agree with softdistortion, I like it when they are more white.
