Really nice start! I love the Halo 4 feel with the vertical structures, and the way your architecture has adapted and integrated into the canyon instead of being placed directly on top.
Looks very cool! Im looking forward to seeing the structures in there as well
Great layout
Good start. Now, make sure you think about focal points first and light your scene accordingly. Figure out what you want people to be looking at. Minimum 1 area of interest, maximum 3, I’d say. Concentrate your lighting based on this structure in order to guide the viewer through your environment. A lot of potential here.
Thank you, Milan for your comment, it’s really helps. I’m in love with the theme for this month
I’ll try my best
Few more steps of my work for this month.

I’ve decided to change the design of the buildings.
Here is the sketch for them.

And 3d models without textures.

This is looking great, Vera. I really like it. Very Prometheus and/or Oblivion looking at the moment, which is another way of saying it’s coming along quite nicely. The design for the buildings is especially good. Are you going to include the third small building in the FG?

or try this if the first didn’t work

I love the kind of architecture you have done on the structures :buttrock: And great composition!
To be very picky, its just the integration with noise, blur and AA into the backplate thats not completely there. I know it sucks to blur the sharp and crisp cg renders but it almost always needs a bit of softening.
Thank you for your advice. I’m appreciate this. I’m only starting to learn matte painting and don’t know this little tricks. So your comment is very useful for me.
Wow! Great architecture. :keenly:
I know, some of the darker parts of the rocks in the foreground match the dark levels in the buildings but i can imagine that it would give the ground more weight and help integrate the buildings to darken the foreground a bit.
good stuff here!
Really nice image and would like add, love the architecture design.
Just would like to toss in my 2 cents, wonder if, say you bring the orange glow in the background mountain tad on the top half of foreground structure if it would have added a bit more depth to your painting. I suppose my thought process is that since the architecture design is so nice, would be nice to light it up a bit even just a section just to bring it out a bit more. that’s all. and best wishes!
здрастуйте, Vera.
(No, sorry, I don’t speak Ukrainian. I copied that from google translate. )
I think you’ve done a really nice, solid job here. I like that your painting looks like it could exist comfortably in both Prometheus or Oblivion.
I do think Sue (XSIEN) has made a good point about possibly adding a hint of warmth/sunlight reflecting off one or maybe even both of the metallic structures. Just because the towers are so nice like everyone says and it could be a good finishing touch to see them reflecting a small glint of late afternoon/evening light, as though we’re caught in those fleeting twilight moments just before darkness.
Anyway, great job!
Thank you Sue, Tibor and Thaddeus your comments and critiques are very useful for me and always welcome.
Congrats in 1st place this month!
The CG structures in the scene have some beautiful modeling and shapes to them. I also really like the inner lighting of it. Black level wise, it could be pushed just a little more blue/purple to match the atmosphere. You can go a little more purple/blue in the black levels for the FG rocks too to match, but not as bright as the BG. Exposure wise, you could go a little darker in the FG and mid ground elements, giving it more of a silhouette feel. The far BG mountains could also lose their light, and be more back lit. They seem a little more front right lit right now, albeit dimly. The details in the back on top of the mountains seem out of place too with the forest and trees in this barren rocky environment. One more thing is the clouds are ok, but the stars near the bright part of the sky look a little compressed, low res, and stretched. Try to go a little more contrasty, dark in the sky, and maybe a little sharper on the stars.
