Hey Lukas! Welcome to the challenge, your piece is looking really nice. However I think that you should be careful with that warm light on the inside walls of the crevice. Where is the light coming from? I think in reality those walls would be much darker and cooler in color temperature. I really like the building on top of the cliff on the left. Would be cool to see some similar architecture echoed in the landing field below.

Overall looking great man!

Thanks for your suggestions Hemal. I think your’re right about the warm light.

That is a really cool start. At this point I’d keep exploring a bit more. Try to push things around somewhat. Take a look at Alejandro Hernandez’ portfolio for some shape and composition inspiration. He’s a very talented Digital Matte and Concept artist: http://senseidi.carbonmade.com/projects/2007932#5

Thank you for your feedback. Here’s the painting after some additional work.

#9

I would de-saturate your image and concentrate your lighting more into certain spots you want highlighted in the environment you’re creating  so we know what to look at

Hi,
I’ve changed the light focus and added some color details to break the monochromatic blue look. What do you think ?

OK, here’s my final matte painting. I hope you like it.
