Ok, guess you know exactly what you’re doing here but still would have liked another element in the fg or something on that field.

Keep it up

Thanks Ashok

EDITED:

A lot of this piece is my brush strokes, evident in the detail pic.

I wanted to give this piece a slightly stylised aesthetic overall though

I don’t have time to work on this any more unfortunately, which is why I powered through it, anyway I really look forward to next challenge.
Thanks everyone, all the best guys

Final HD on portfolio here.

Looks great, Aaron. I really like ALL of your images at each stage this month and, to tell you the truth, I think I personally prefer the austerity (and desaturation) of your very first 2-14-2015 WIP. It was basically done at that stage for me! But I do like your cool rock structures and alien vegetation in the finished piece too of course. Good job, man.

Thanks Thaddeus  Ah yes, the problem with the previous WIP was the lack of life, it was a little static to me as I really wanted to sell the idea that these are habited structures with some activity going on.
In addition I wanted a nice complimentary colour, and orange marries itself perfectly in a predominately blue environment. Probably one of my favourite colour combinations, used quite a lot in movies, in particular Transformers films. Which seems kind of odd making reference to when I’m not doing robots lol.

It was a fun piece to create though I must say that the freedom scares me when it comes to a brief, especially when I’m left to decide a direction. I find it to be sometimes quite damaging to the whole creative process as I can never make my mind up. I like someone to direct me, maybe its just me on that one, but knowing where your heading is half the battle. When I see options I get a little nervous.

Moving on!.. can’t wait for the next one!
