Project Galaxy XQ: First Light, is a “Hard Science Fiction” film that takes place in the 25th century. At this time the human race has moved to the stars and colonized many star systems in the Milky Way galaxy. With the new space folding technology engines, space travel has evolved insomuch as a journey across the galaxy, a distance of about 75 light years, would now take a few weeks, instead of the previous “faster than light” warp engines that would take a few decades. But of course travel to any other galaxies is still out of the question, but who cares, with about 100 billion star systems to explore in our own galaxy there is enough to keep us busy right here.
Although some evidence of many ancient alien species have been found in the ongoing galactic search and exploration projects, alas no real live aliens have been found. So perhaps the human race IS the only living species in the universe. But then strange things starts happening. People start dissapearing by the millions, and rogue asteroids mysteriously alter their trajectories and start hitting planets.
Jon Sinclair and Doc Menencota is on the point of a technological breakthrough, the socalled “Singularity Technology”, the first time the enormous power of Black Holes can be harnassed. But somebody else is also very interested in this technology.
