Oculus Story Studio, the award-winning studio behind virtual reality (VR) short films like Dear Angelica and Henry, is being shut down, Facebook announced Thursday afternoon. Facebook wasn’t the right company to push VR anyway.
All Facebook does is collect DATA on people and monetize it.
Perhaps somebody better will push VR further now.

VR in its present form is at best a 5-minute-every-second-year-experience for the vast majority of people/consumers. It doesn’t matter how deep pockets facebook or anyone has. The tech is 8-10 years away from being a mass consumer product. Lets have this discussion Again in 2025.
