Exporting xyz coordinates from 3d objects

#1

I was wondering if any of you know if it would be possible to do the following in Blender.

I need to find a way to get the x/z coordinates of a 3d object spining around the z axis. The coordinates I need are of the profile of the object as it croses the x/z plane with 2 degree increments for a total of 90 groups of sampled data. Within each group I dont need too much resolution either so 90 sets of x/z coordinates would be sufficient per group (2 degree increment around z axis)

It would help a ton if this could be an automated procedure, but I’ll manually extract the data if needed. Is this at all possible in Blender???

If yes, any chance I could get color info of the texture map for each of the sampled points???
